I have just been to see this film based on a very loose recommendation (you know the kind, "Oh you must see x it's really good." "Oh right, what happens?" "Oh, you know". Well that was enough for me, especially as I get half-price cinema tickets.
It stars Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman as two men who very different lives but both diagnosed with terminal illnesses. They find themselves sharing a hospital room and decide to do as many things from a list as possible before they die.
I went into this with no pre-conceptions and have to say it was a really good film for a lazy Saturday afternoon. It's not too taxing but it does manage to pull a good story in with a mixture of enotions and I would definitely recommend it for anybody. It's by no means an action film, but it manages to stay on the right side of "chick-flick" for the fellas to enjoy it too!
It reminded me loosely of Freeman's performance in "Shawshank Redemption" (character style, not story) and redeemed him in my eyes as I have just about gotten over the truly awful "Deep Impact".
Well that's the end of my review. I think "No Country For Old Men" is next on my list ...
